Children Priority One (YCPO)
YCPO focuses on the needs of young children that are prenatal through

Growth and Education
Responsible for acquiring new members and retaining existing members
through education programs and special events.
Prepares a budget for submission to the board: submits recommendations
on financial matters; secures funds necessary to meet budget requirements.
Implements projects that address school-aged youth.
and Spiritual Values
Implements projects that support spiritual development, provide
human companionship and comfort or offers counselling and guidance.
The Committee will act as a catalyst for the inviting of new members
to evaluate applications and make recommendations to the Board.
They will educate sponsors on information to provide new potential
candidates and the process of accepting new members. The goal will
be to achieve positive increase in our membership each year.
The Committee shall be responsible for securing speakers who would
be of interest to the Club for the purpose of striving for entertaining,
dynamic and informative Tuesday meetings.
The PR Committee finds ways of promoting the good work carried out
by Club both to the community and to the Club itself. Usually a
small committee, this group touches many of the projects carried
out by the Club.
Made up of 4 representatives from each partner (Kiwanis and Shriners).This
committee meets on the last Monday night of each Month at 7:00 pm.
The committee is charged with overseeing the management and operations
through the Manager. Duties include setting salaries and wages,
upholding by-law and policy development. (Alan, Denise, Gail and
This committee makes the arrangements for our Annual White Cross
Christmas and Bingo Parties. We arrange for the hall, food and entertainment.

The AC Committee is part of the Sponsoring Committee made up of
Kiwanis and our partners 201 wing. Usually 3 from each side. They
meet as needed and oversee the budgets and operations of 60 Confederation

Zakem House Committee
Planned and constructed a 23 unit affordable housing building in
downtown Charlottetown which opened December 1, 2004. Committee
is now responsible for the day to day operation of the building.
Over the years The Kiwanis Club of Charlottetown supported the Music
Festival on PEI, donating to each county
and to the Provincial itself. In 2001 the Kiwanis Club became the
official sponsor of the PEI Music Festival thus becoming "
The PEI Kiwanis Music Festival ". We still support each county
as before but the Provincial is now a yearly Kiwanis event. Hundreds
of children across the Island benefit from our support each year.
